Ziya Wei is an impressive face with her elegant beauty. Although Ziya Wei has not received any sub-prize, she has created nature and passionate impressions in Vietnamese audiences.

Appearing in a Chinese traditional costume, Ziya Wei expressed her happiness while sharing her feelings with Netlife’s correspondent. It was such a long time she did not naturally speak in Chinese.

As a representative of China, the country of Miss World 2007 - Zi Lin Zhang, whether or not Ziya Wei came to Vietnam under little pressure. She said “ Pressure? Yes, of course but actually not much, I think so. Because if  under a heavy pressure how can I take part in the contest naturally ,right? I believe that all I have to do is trying my best. This is not only a beauty contest but also the chance of culture exchange and mercy charity… I think that final result is actually not as important as your effort, just the way you express yourself. Anyway, every contestant has proved for different beauties, distinguished strength… This made me, also you and the contest successful.”

“I love our contestants; they have different stong points and special features. I love Miss Vietnam –ThuyLam (Her name is the same as Miss Zi Lin Zhang, isn’t it? Smiled Miss China). The distance to finish point of Miss Universe 2008 is shortening, Ziya Wei shared, she has had an excellent time in Vietnam.However, she missed her country and wanted to come back China to take part in some charity programs helping the victims of Sichuan earthquake on May 12th  recently.

 “In Miss Universe 2008, whether receiving prize or not, I just want to help my compatriots in China. Getting prize, I would have more chance to help them. I love to visit all countries, call for unity and kind. I hope people will help by sharing  money or strength. I will say, if you are in good condition, please pay attention to the orphan children”.

 “Besides, I also knew that Vietnam helped China a lot in the earthquake. I just want to say thank you, thanks to all people in the neighbor country - Vietnam. Hopefully, I will have more chances to explore this beautiful country”.

 Miss Singapore Shenise Wong: Money and Love are equal

Simply appearing in blue clothes, Shenise Wong – Miss from Lion island country expressed a gentle and mature beauty at the age of 26 that not almost contestants have. While other Misses always used body language to express their answers, Miss Singapore just talked in a calm and simple way.

 “I have been in many places of Vietnam; it’s such a huge happiness for a person love exploring like me. I love Hochiminh city most. This city is modern and active, like Singapore, even more animated and colourful. I specially like “pho”. In Singapore, I also have been in Vietnamese restaurants but it’s really special to taste the food in the host country. “Pho” in Hanoi is the most delicious; I also knew that “pho” is one of the most special foods here”.

“Many people say that I am rather…old for a beauty contest. But actually, at the age of 26, I am fully confident about myself. I have participated in many beauty contests. Why? Because through them I could gain experience, learn more and renew myself. I was Singapore’s representative at contests such as Miss International 2002 and Miss World 2005, which brought me precious experience for both this Miss Universe 2008 and my life”.

Used to be an air hostess then graduated from accountant department in university, Shenise now is a financial intermediary. “Working in field of finance, I know value of money. However, when ranging due to importance in life, I will choose family first and then friendship. To me,  love and money are on the same rank because in life we need both spirit and material. Love helps life more beautiful but earning money and making a stable life are important, too.”

Not being good at English and also needed an interpreter to speak with correspondents, however, Miss Thailand was very confident when answering questions. Gawintra Pothijakra  makes other people impress with her graceful appearance and as Thai land’s traditional greeting, she always pressing her palms together before her chest. 

“I am always confident with Miss Universe contest this yearand I’m  ready for the coming final night. However, in order to get the crown, beside beauty and intelligence we need  little luck. This will be decided by the audiences, the judge and also destiny.

Miss Thailand in National Customs

I see that Vietnam and Thailand have many similarities about climate, nature and people. I like Ha Long Bay most. This place is very beautiful. I surely will visit here again for few days  and when I come back to Thailand I will tell others that Vietnam has such a romantic place as Ha Long. 

I like Miss Japan most. We are really congenial. We had a lot of fun and shared many things together. In my opinion, love is just giving without asking for any returns . When you are giving your all but still feeling happy, it is love”.

Miss – model Sun Lee of the Kim chi homeland impresses people with her youthfulness, loveliness and attractiveness. When taking photos, this 25-year-old model usually makes a cold impressive style. With big eyes and charming lips, Sun Lee is considered as a potential candidate of Asia.

However, beside taking photos time, Sun lee is very natural, youthful and lovely. Miss Korea confided that she loves kids very much, she hopes every child will have a happy childhood and a stable basis to grow up. “As a Miss, a representative of Korea or when coronating in international contest, I will try my best for this”.

“I felt really glad when receiving support from Miss Universe Korea 2007- Honey Lee , even my schedule is very busy. I will try hard to get the best result.” 

“I like listening to music, watching films and reading. I know that Vietnam is one of the countries where people love Korean movies and I’m proud of it. I hope that Vietnam and Korea will have more chances to exchange cultures and I will be like Honey Lee, coming back to Vietnam to spend more time visiting and exploring this beautiful country.”

Always, up to now, Asia doesn’t have as many advances as other countries in beauties contests. However, as time goes, Asian beauty is more and more getting to the throne with the coronation of Miss World Zi Lin Zhang, impressive Miss Korea Honey Lee, etc. At Miss Universe 2008 this year, representatives of Asia left good impression to the audiences.
