- A rain suddenly poured down when some Misses stepped into the SOS Children’s Orphange in Nha Trang- Khanh Hoa, making the visit just not as it had been expected.
At 5.30 pm, two sides of the road in the village were crowded with the local people, all of who were excited to see for themselves beautiful Misses. Inside the village, the children in neat and tidy uniform were holding in their hands pretty flowers, small flags and colourful balloons. They all were well-prepared for the Misses’ visit.
As soon as the beauties entered the village’s precinct; however, several raindrops fell signalling a heavy rain to come. And not long before they took their seats, it started to be heavy. The Misses sheltered from the rain by running to the stage where welcome performances should have been taken place.
Despite the unfavourable weather, all beauties still looked wonderful and were welcomed even more cordially by the children. Some kids brought them umbrellas while others were keen on asking for their signatures and insisting them to take photos with. As for the Misses, they smiled blissfully and waved at the kids, expressing their love and hospitality.
After delivering the speech under the rain, Ms.Paula Shugart, on behalf of the Miss Universe Organization presented the village with VND 100 million.
Among 40 Misses visiting the village, Miss Vietnam Nguyen Thuy Lam was the one to be paid most attention to. Wearing a bright red dress, she happily signed and took photos with the children. Meanwhile, Miss Venezuela proved to be one of the primest candidates for the Miss of the contest when she left so good impression on anyone who once saw and/or talked to her. “Miss Venezuela is so beautiful, so cute, and so lovely…,” complimented the children on Dyana Medoza. The present Miss Universe, Ryio Mori, unfortunately did not turn up, which disappointed quite a few children who had hoped to see and ask her for signatures into her photos printed in advance.
As mentioned, the trip did not happen as it had been expected due to the heavy rain. That paying each house a visit and presenting gifts to individual child as they did in SOS Children’s Village in Hanoi was cancelled. The beauties left when it was lightly raining, accompanied by the children. They sheltered the “sister Miss”, as they called with umbrellas and saw them off right near the car.
It was really moved to see the Misses turn back to catch sight of the kids and both they and the children waved at each other as the car slowly ran.
“Sister Thuy Lam, try your best…”, “Thuy Lam, I love you, I stand by your side…,” said the kids of the village to Miss Vietnam.
In the afternoon, about 10 Misses came and saw HIV patients at their resident named Nha Trang Xanh.
